Bethune Slugs 2 Home Runs, Red Pandas Beat Starks, 6-1
|
Rupert Bethune was a major contributor to the 6-1 Sioux Falls win over Syracuse. The Red Pandas shortstop went 3 for 5 with 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. The winner was Ingo Abresch, who threw 90 pitches over 7 innings. The right-hander was charged with 1 run on 6 hits. At 29-32, Sioux Falls is in 7th place in the Menard's AAA.
Bethune had a key at-bat for Sioux Falls early in the game. With the bases empty, he hit a solo home run. It was his 4th home run of the season and gave Sioux Falls an early 1-0 lead.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Sioux Falls manager Robert Dickinson.
