4-1 Loss Extends Salt Lake City Skid
|
Athletic Club KC Reserves starter Gabel Ambrosius turned in an exceptional performance against the Salt Lake City Buzz at Spirits Stadium, resulting in a Athletic Club KC win, 4-1. Salt Lake City's current losing streak is now 6 games.
The Buzz had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Reserves going into the top of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 24-year old first baseman Dave Pope came to the plate. Pope hit a solo home run on a 2-0 curveball from Salt Lake City hurler Max van Capelleveen. It was Pope's 9th home run of the year.
"The effort we put into this one paid off," Ambrosius said.
