Getting an impressive start from José Ramírez, Syracuse beat Austin by the score of 4-2. The save was credited to Jean-Marie Beck, his 2nd. Syracuse has now won 3 straight, while the Black Mambas have lost 4 in a row.
Syracuse used a timely hit from Justin Forbes to get the win. The left fielder stroked a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Starks ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"We need to keep playing good baseball," Forbes told the Syracuse Daily.
