Lake Monsters Win, 3-1, at Baton Rouge
|
The Baton Rouge Brass went down to defeat to Hakizimana Kipkorir and his Vermont teammates. The final score was 3-1 in favor of the Lake Monsters. Kipkorir, now 5-2, was the winner. In 7.2 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 5, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. Will Parker was called on to finish, recording his 1st save.
Arnie Birand, the 25-year old left fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Birand contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth inning to put Vermont up, 1-0.
"Winning is hard sometimes," said Lake Monsters manager Juan Rodríguez. "This one was nice to get."
The Lake Monsters now have a record of 14-27.
