Buzz Suffer 5-2 Setback

The Salt Lake City Buzz got a superb performance from pitcher Shawn Umble, but the Monongahela Monsters still won the game, 5-2. Umble threw 5.0 innings of 3-hit ball. Monongahela reliever Mutu Kirra picked up the win, upping his record to 3-0. Eldon Williams was saddled with the loss. Earning his 7th save for Monongahela was Elton Ray.
The outcome might have been different for Monongahela, had it not been for Royce Foster, the 28-year old left fielder . Foster stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put Monongahela up, 4-2. For the game, he was 2 for 4, including 1 double and 1 single.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Foster told the Monongahela Citizen.
Monongahela, now 14-8, holds down second place in the Premier AAA.
