Losing Streak Continues for Lake Monsters with 6-3 Loss to Starks
|
Another game, another loss for the struggling Vermont Lake Monsters.
Syracuse picked up a win at Monster Field, bumping off the Vermont Lake Monsters, 6-3. Pitcher José Ramírez was a major reason the Starks emerged victorious. Jean-Marie Beck closed the game out for Syracuse, earning his 1st save.
Tied up with the Lake Monsters in the top of the fifth inning, the Starks got a boost from first baseman Adam Smith. With runners on 1st and 2nd, Smith saw a full count slider from Ralph Hanscombe and hit a run-scoring single to break the stalemate and put Syracuse on top, 1-0.
"We're in a funk right now," said Vermont skipper Juan Rodríguez.
Vermont's current losing streak is now 8 games.
