5-1 Loss Extends Pennsauken Skid

Hartford rode a fine outing from starter Edward Martin to victory over the Pennsauken Flyers at Pride Park. The final score was 5-1. Martin, now 2-2, was the winner. In 5.1 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 3, walking 4, and allowing no runs. Bernard Hewer sewed up the save, his 1st.
Joël Pesci, who is tied for 3rd in the PAAA in triples with 1, contributed to the Hartford win with a solo home run in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the shortstop had 2 hits in 3 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 1 run batted in.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Pesci told the Hartford Chronicle.
