Dodos Down Buzz, 8-5
|
Dodos Ballpark was the site of quite a ballgame.
The Hialeah Dodos bested the Salt Lake City Buzz by a score of 8-5, with designated hitter Eddie Neef getting the main credit. On the day, Neef went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Dodos. Hialeah reliever Júlio Antunez picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Will Sovaiala was saddled with the loss.
Hialeah won the game in the bottom of the tenth inning. With one out and Will Sovaiala on the mound for Salt Lake City, second baseman Paul Pitts hit a dramatic 3-run home run, bringing Dodos fans to their feet.
"We're in a funk and we need to shake ourselves out of it," said Salt Lake City manager Waylon Anderson.
The Buzz fall to 4-9 and continue their lackluster start in 2046.
