The Milton Dogfish Head got a stellar performance from pitcher Dan Dunn, who handcuffed the Santa Barbara offense en route to a win, 5-1, at Milton Corner Tavern. In 7 innings, Dunn surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run. The 7th-place Golden Cranes have dropped 5 straight games.
The Golden Cranes had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Dogfish Head going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the former first overall pick Bobby Norris came to the plate. Norris hit a solo home run on a full count fastball from Santa Barbara hurler Mark Adams. It was Norris's 9th home run of the year.
Dunn attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
