Oaks Come Back Late, Nip Voodoo
|
The Oakland Oaks had to overcome a big game from New Orleans second baseman Júlio Sahagún to leave The Oak Grove with a victory. And they did, winning 7-6. Sahagún went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. The save was credited to Walt McPike, his 2nd. The Oaks sport a record of 8-16.
Lorenzo García took Paul Thomas deep in the bottom of the eighth. His grand slam home run put the Oaks on top, 7-6. In all, García had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
