Outlaws Sneak By Browns, 6-5
|
The Nashville Outlaws wiggled past the Cleveland Browns, 6-5, at Factory of Sadness. The win was highlighted by the performance of Nashville pitcher King Joseph. The winner in relief was Napoleon Vitagliano. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.1 innings. He now owns a record of 1-0. Carlos Simon earned save number 1 this season.
The most critical at-bat came in the top of the 14th inning. With one out, Julian Lemur hit a first pitch fastball from Vicente López for a run-scoring single. It put Nashville in front, 6-5.
"We had the game right there for the taking," said Cleveland manager Greg Diersing. "But we decided not to take it."
The win puts Nashville at 2-1.
