Extra-Inning Win by Cattlemen Over Stingers
|
Toledo third baseman Chris P. Bacon had a good game, even if his team did not. The Stingers dropped a 6-4 decision to Ft. Worth at Pacesetter Park. Bacon was 3 for 5 with 3 doubles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Maverick Handley sewed up the save, his 18th. The losing skid has reached 7 games for Toledo.
The game was at a stalemate until center fielder Curtis Tiger came to bat in the top of the tenth. Facing Toledo pitcher John Walton, he hit a 1-0 curveball for a 2-run single. It was a game-changer, putting Ft. Worth on top, 6-4.
Despite the victory, Tiger was prickly with assembled media after the game. He said only that he was "happy with the win."
