Boyd Vélez Lost for Season Wednesday, September 6th , 2045 Boyd Vélez will soon find out from his doctors if his season will continue. The first diagnosis was not too positive and indicated the Surprise starting pitcher could miss the remainder of the year. Vélez was injured while throwing a pitch in the Shockers-Trash Pandas clash at Trash Panda Field recently. Doctors said he has shoulder inflammation and would be out a minimum of 5 months. This season Vélez has a 2-7 mark in 15 starts with a 4.70 ERA. He has given up 96 hits in 74.2 innings, struck out 56 and issued 21 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .307 batting average against him. |
