Stabb Suspended, Out 4 Games
Thursday, August 17th , 2045
The agitation was hot and heavy at Sea Dogs Park yesterday. After a called third strike Beavers third baseman Al Stabb protested the call in no uncertain terms. While he and the home plate umpire were jawing face-to-face, a few bumps took place and Stabb was ejected from the game.
"It was verbal, nothing more," according to Stabb. However, the league frowned on what transpired and suspended him for 4 games.
"The league will never tolerate a player touching an umpire in anger," the commissioner said in the suspension notification.
This season in 80 games, Stabb has hit at a .226 clip with 65 hits, 9 home runs, 37 RBIs and 24 runs scored.
