Chandler Swats 3 Homers Wednesday, July 5th , 2045 Fans seated in the bleacher section at Ducks Park were taking cover all day long as Clifton Chandler zeroed in on them, rattling three long blasts off the seats in a display of Herculean power. The big game from the Ladue right fielder helped the Rams take the victory, 9-0, over the Long Island Ducks. "I told myself not to press on the last one," he told reporters in the postgame press conference. "I knew I couldn't force it -- it has to be a nice easy swing." For the game, he collected 3 hits in 4 at-bats, drove in 6 and scored 3 runs. Clifton Chandler flied out in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Alfredo Hernández in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Alfredo Hernández in the 5th and hit a solo-shot off Bob Larsen in the 8th. So far on the season Chandler is hitting .276 with 7 home runs, 16 RBIs and 15 runs scored. He has 24 hits and played in 37 games. |
