Fuentes Tosses 4-0 Shutout Wednesday, June 21st , 2045 The Athletic Club KC U-21 manager was philosophical in the clubhouse following a shutout loss to the Long Island Ducks. The U-21 were overpowered by Long Island starter Raúl Fuentes, who hurled his club to victory, 4-0. "It was just one of those games -- shake it off and do better next time," Carlos Vela said. Over 9 innings, Fuentes blanked Athletic Club KC on 5 hits with no walks and 10 strikeouts. "I kept them off balance. I could tell a lot of them were late on fastballs because they were fouling them off. Once you see that, it sets them up for other pitches," Fuentes said. "I set them up, where if they chased one breaking ball, they were going to chase another one."
