Hit Streak Now at 20 for Espiritu Monday, September 4th , 2045 Warren Espiritu's consecutive-game hitting streak has now climbed to 20 games. The St. Petersburg center fielder smacked 1 hit against the Squirrel Hill Pierogis in today's game at Baby Thunder Dome, but he expressed mixed emotions about the streak after watching the Thunder drop the game, 4-2. "I feel good about the streak, but don't feel good when we lose," he told reporters. "I'd love to get a hit as well as a win next time so I can celebrate properly." Warren Espiritu singled in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th and grounded out in the 8th. This year Espiritu has collected a .354 batting average to date with 123 hits in 347 at-bats, 31 RBIs, 1 home run and scored 45 times. He has played in 87 games. |
