Flores Blisters Bethesda Wednesday, August 10th , 2044 It was a sensational day at the plate for Squirrel Hill Pierogis first baseman Martín Flores, but a tough one for the team, as the Pierogis dropped the contest 6-5 to the Bethesda Atoms. Even with the loss, Flores was pure misery for the Bethesda pitching staff. He left them shell-shocked after going 5-for-8 in an explosive display of hitting. "It's always good to get a bunch of hits in a game, but you also want to win," said Flores, who is the 21-year old first baseman . "Flores really hit the ball hard and when you do that, you've got a good chance to do some damage," Atoms manager Wilber Moon told BNN reporters after the game. "I feel like we threw him some good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball." Martín Flores grounded out in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Pacho Hernández in the 4th, flied out in the 5th, singled in the 8th, singled in the 10th, grounded out in the 12th, singled in the 15th and singled in the 17th.
