League Suspends Miners Kelley 4 Games Thursday, July 27th , 2045 Rich Kelley, center fielder for the Marquette Miners, will be getting a few days off the hard way -- a 4-game suspension for aggressively arguing with an umpire in a recent game with Ottawa. After being called out on strikes, Kelley stood toe-to-toe with the home plate umpire and hotly contested the call. Apparently he got too close to the arbiter and was ejected from the game, allegedly making contact with the bill of his cap. "I don't remember billing him. I don't remember doing that," Kelley told BNN today. Presently Kelley is batting .247 with 20 hits and 1 home run. He has knocked in 17 runs and scored 10 times. |
