League Suspends Maxwell and Manchester for Fisticuffs
Monday, July 10th , 2045
If there wasn't a history between Woody Maxwell of Hialeah and Eric Manchester of Ellenburg, then there is one now. The incident between the two sparked a bench-clearing scrum with those two being the center of attention. Now they will miss 4 and 9 games respectively as a result of their actions. The league office announced their suspensions today.
"We're both really competitive," Maxwell said later, "and sometimes things go a little too far because of it."
For the year Maxwell is batting .193 with 40 hits and 13 home runs. He has scored 29 times and driven in 39.
Thus far this season, Manchester has worked 67.2 innings with 52 strikeouts en route to a 3-6 record and a 5.72 ERA.
