3-HR Dream Game for Mellor Wednesday, June 21st , 2045 For Ed Mellor, it was not an average day at the ballpark. Fans at The Zoo in Syracuse today watched Mellor power the Hamilton Coyotes to a 10-2 win over the Syracuse Squirrel Monkeys, blasting a trifecta of home runs. "I've always loved hitting in The Zoo in Syracuse," the first baseman told reporters following his big day. "You can see the ball so well." For the game, he collected 3 hits in 5 at-bats, scored 3 runs and had 5 RBIs. Ed Mellor hit a solo-shot off Andy Williams in the 1st, flied out in the 2nd, hit a three-run home run off Andy Williams in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Dan Stokes in the 6th, struck out in the 7th and walked in the 9th. Thus far this year Mellor has hit .296 with 9 home runs and 14 RBIs. |
