Despite a fine performance by third baseman Chris P. Bacon, the Toledo Stingers lost to the San Mateo Dirty Reds, 5-3. Bacon was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. San Mateo now has a record of 54-33 with the win.

San Mateo used the timely hitting of Anson Darrah to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Dirty Reds on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"I still think this team can play even better," Darrah told the San Mateo Daily News.
