VIRGINIA BEACH WHALES AT GWINNETT GUINEA PIGS

Gwinnett Guinea Pigs Sweep SL AA Championship
The Gwinnett Guinea Pigs rolled over the Virginia Beach Whales 10-4 at Experimental Stadium to easily win the 2045 SL AA Championship crown.

Gwinnett won in a walk and swept the series from the Whales 3-0. It was their 4th championship title.

Winning manager Tabor de Maria praised his own club as well as the opposition, calling the Whales "a fine team."

"It wasn't as easy as it looked. We had to play good baseball to beat them," he said. "We always seemed to come up with the key hit at the right time and to make the plays on defense when we had to. That's how you win the SL AA Championship."

The Guinea Pigs took second place in the Silver AA and rounded out the year with a 62-40 record.
