Hai-liang Shuang pitched a gem to help the Franklin Fire escape with a tight 2-1 victory over the Moose Jaw Canucks in a low-scoring 3L R Championship contest today. The left-handed Shuang threw 7.0 innings allowing 1 runs in the win, just enough for the Fire on a day when their offense dried up. Franklin now leads the best-of-5 series 2-0.

Runs were scarce in this one. So, Curt MacNeill's at-bat in the top of the ninth was vitally important. With two out, the Franklin third baseman reached on an error by the SS, driving in 1 run, to give his team a 2-1 lead.

"Feels good to get the job done," MacNeill said after the game.

The next game is set to be played for Tuesday, September 12th , 2045 at Lawmen Ballpark in Franklin.
