Road Win Lifts Franklin to 1-0 Lead in R1
|
The Franklin Fire started the 3L R Championship in style today, winning on the road against the Moose Jaw Canucks at Foresters Stadium by a score of 6-1 to take an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series. Fire right-hander Quentin Gamble threw 7.0 innings of 6-hit ball.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Matt Carter? The Franklin designated hitter had a 2-run double in the top of the second inning to put the Fire on top, 2-1. For the game, Carter had 1 double and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.
"I tried to mix it up, keep them off balance," said Gamble.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Foresters Stadium in Moose Jaw.
