The Nova Scotia Leviathan beat the Hollywood Shredders, 8-6, at The Hollywood Bowl. The win was due in part to designated hitter Tony Wonder, who went 2-4 with 2 singles and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. The winner was Maverick Handley in relief. His record improves to 3-2. Eric Mason took the loss. Tom DeHart got the save, the 16th for him this season.

Nova Scotia got the win thanks to a clutch hit from Ricardo Águila. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Leviathan ahead, 7-5. Though it was his only hit in 1 at-bat, it had a major impact on the outcome.

Wonder told the Nova Scotia Daily News: "Win or lose, I don't want to see our team outhustled."

The second-place Leviathan have a record of 34-23.
