Cajuns Cut Down Baby Lakers, 4-2
|
The Crowley Cajuns got a stellar performance from pitcher Anthony Coleman, who handcuffed the Bompton offense en route to a win, 4-2, at Field of the Browns. Crowley reliever Fraser Chambers picked up the win, upping his record to 6-4. Jorge Castro absorbed the loss. Kevin Swanson recorded his 13th save for Crowley.
Crowley used a clutch hit from Gökhan Özdemir to get the win. The designated hitter drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Cajuns ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a doozy.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Bompton skipper Pat Carrasco, "and it cost us."
The 4th-place Cajuns go to 49-41.
