Hicksville and Ellesmere Island duked it out and the Hounds came out victorious.
With second baseman Asvarya Konduru leading the charge, the Hicksville Hounds defeated the Ellesmere Island Snowpeople, 7-5, at The Igloo. Konduru, who leads the 3R in bases on balls with 41, went 3-4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. José García collected his 4th save.
With Hicksville leading 1-0 in the top of the fifth, Konduru hit a 2-run single off Ellesmere Island hurler Vic Lee. It was the 89th hit of the season for Konduru and put his team ahead, 3-0.
"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Konduru.
The 10th-place Hounds have won 5 in a row.
