Snowpeople Deal Shockers 5-2 Setback
|
Starting pitcher Daisuke Maeda was a major factor in the 5-2 Ellesmere Island Snowpeople triumph over the Surprise Shockers. Maeda, the winner, moves to 7-8. He threw 7.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 6 and giving up 1 walk. The 9th-place Snowpeople are now 37-44, the Shockers 41-40.
In the top of the fifth, Ieremia Mohala delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and the bases loaded, the Ellesmere Island first baseman hit a 2-run single, putting the Snowpeople in front, 5-2.
