Octopi Take Down Hounds, 3-2

The Ogallala Octopi electrified the crowd with a walk-off win.
The Ogallala Octopi faced a tough opponent in Hicksville pitcher Brad Duncan, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Nebraska Aquarium by a final score of 3-2. Duncan went 6.2 innings and allowed 1 run. Ernie Jones earned the win after being called from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 3 innings. He upped his record to 2-2.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Ogallala second baseman Sumitomo Shimizu, facing Jim Hicks, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Octopi the 3-2 win.
Hicksville manager Oliver Burrell said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
The Octopi go to 23-41 with the win.
