The Surprise Shockers got a stellar performance from pitcher Bennett Whitley, who handcuffed the Hicksville offense en route to a win, 5-2, at Hound Pound. Sing Song locked down his 10th save. With the win, the Shockers sit at 29-28.
With Surprise leading 1-0 in the top of the second, Gabriel Quintana hit a run-scoring single off Hicksville pitcher Rhys Tregelles. It put the Shockers ahead 2-0.
"We did a lot of things right," said Whitley.
