Baby Lakers Stay Hot With 3-1 Win
|
Bompton beat Hicksville on the strength of starter Edemona Babitu's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 3-1. Babitu went 7.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 1, and struck out 6. His record improves to 5-4. Javier Rúbio recorded the save, his 13th.
Early in the game, catcher Javier Chávez had a solo home run for Bompton. It was his 4th home run of the season and put the Baby Lakers on top, 1-0.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Bompton skipper Pat Carrasco.
The winning streak has now reached 12 games for Bompton.
