6-3 Loss Extends Flint Skid
|
Starting pitcher Nathan Cox pitched well enough to help the Surprise Shockers beat the Flint Crush, 6-3. The winning pitcher was Cox, now 2-0. He tossed 5.2 innings of 2-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 5. Picking up the save was Hugh Mann, his 3rd.
Surprise used a well-timed hit by Raymond Evans to capture the win. The right fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the second inning to put the Shockers ahead, 4-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Evans told the Surprise Chronicle.
The losses continue to add up for Flint, which has now fallen 10 times in a row.
