Trash Pandas Best Octopi in Pitching Duel
|
The Watford City Trash Pandas took Ogallala pitcher Frank Baldwin's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Nebraska Aquarium. The final score had Watford City getting past the Octopi, 2-0. Baldwin went 6.1 innings and allowed 1 run, striking out 7. Eduardo Martínez earned the win after being called from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.2 innings. He upped his record to 2-2. Melis Ooyendijk closed it out for his 9th save.
Watford City needed the clutch hitting of Gaballah Murunga to notch the win. The left fielder hammered a solo home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Trash Pandas on top, 1-0. For the game, Murunga had 1 home run and 1 single in 3 at-bats.
