Losing Streak Continues for Crush with 8-5 Loss to Trash Pandas
|
Elijah Schneider was instrumental in his team's 8-5 triumph over the Flint Crush. The right fielder was 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3 for the Watford City Trash Pandas. Nathan Sims got credit for the win, improving to 2-1. He allowed 1 run on 8 hits in 5 innings. Melis Ooyendijk, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 6th save.
Roberto Flores went 1 for 3 with a triple and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 times for Watford City. The 21-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the bottom of the second. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Justin Rochefort. It was his 5th RBI of the season.
"Our guys are never satisfied," said Watford City manager Jacob Holt.
Watford City, now 10-6, has played well in the early going.
