Leviathan Come Back Late, Nip Stingers
|
The Nova Scotia Leviathan had to overcome a fine effort from Toledo pitcher Jesús Vidro to grab a narrow 4-3 win at Pacesetter Park. Vidro went 6.1 innings and allowed 3 runs. The win puts the Leviathan at 24-16, while the Stingers drop to 22-18.
It could have been a different outcome for Nova Scotia, had it not been for Tom Smythe, the former first round draft pick . Smythe contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the ninth inning to put Nova Scotia up, 4-3.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Smythe told the Nova Scotia Daily News.
