Interns Defeat Rhinos, 5-1
|
Capital Hill Interns starter Lung Zhou pitched his team past the Redwood Rhinos, 5-1. The winning pitcher was Zhou, now 5-1. He tossed 7.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 9. Capital Hill now has a record of 30-23 with the win.
The Rhinos had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Interns going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 20-year old shortstop Thomas Jones came to the plate. Jones hit a 2-run double on a full count sinker from Redwood hurler Daniel Rockwell. It was Jones's 7th double of the year.
"This is a very good team," said Jones. "We have the chance to do something special."
