Baby Lakers Beat Shockers, 3-1
Bompton beat Surprise on the strength of starter Mitch Ivey's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 3-1. Every game is important, even these early ones, if the Baby Lakers hope to make a postseason run.

Bompton used a timely hit from Raúl Hernández to get the win. The left fielder delivered a run-scoring triple in the top of the eighth inning to put the Baby Lakers on top, 2-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"Mitch made his pitches," said Bompton manager Pat Carrasco.
