Cajuns Get One-Run Win at Bompton
|
The Crowley Cajuns turned back the Bompton Baby Lakers, 4-3, at Field of the Browns. Jean-Claude Leprêtre, in particular, had a fine performance. He slugged 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Bryan Griffin earned the win to go to 1-1. He allowed 3 runs on 5 hits, with 1 walk and 10 strikeouts in 5.2 innings of work. Kevin Swanson recorded the save, his 1st.
In the top of the fourth, with the game still scoreless, Leprêtre hit a 2-run home run to put his team in the lead.
"If you ever get this game figured out," said Bompton manager Pat Carrasco, "let me know."
With the win, Crowley elevates its record to 2-7.
