Extra-Inning Win by Divided Over Knights
|
The Kingston Township Knights got a superb performance from pitcher Stu Searle, but the D.C. Divided still won the game, 6-4. Searle came in in relief and pitched to 17 batters. D.C. reliever César Sandoval picked up the win, upping his record to 3-0. Jacob Messer shouldered the loss. Kingston Township has now lost 6 straight.
The game was at a stalemate until right fielder Sam Bickerton came to bat in the top of the 21st. Facing Kingston Township pitcher Jacob Messer, he hit a 2-1 cutter for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting D.C. on top, 5-4.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Bickerton told the D.C. Daily.
