Beavers Knock Off Rhinos at Beaver Town

Redwood got a decent performance from pitcher Wilson Silva, but it wasn't enough to beat the Northwest Territory Beavers. Northwest Territory won the Beaver Town contest, 4-1. Silva threw 6.1 innings of 5-hit ball for the losing team. The win belongs to Richard McAfee in relief. His record improves to 2-2. Wilson Silva took the loss for Redwood. Nelson Carrasco collected save number 9.
Al Stabb had a big 2-run double for the Beavers in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Northwest Territory trailing 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from Wilson Silva and swatted a double to left. It was his 9th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Beavers ahead, 2-1.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Redwood skipper Dave Parrish, "and it cost us."
The win gives Northwest Territory a season record of 20-19.
