The Redwood Rhinos got a stellar effort from pitcher William Wright, helping Redwood score a win over the visiting Capital Hill Interns, 7-1. Redwood reliever William Wright got the win, raising his record to 2-0. Brian Campbell was tagged with the loss. Erik Walton earned the save for Redwood, his 1st of the year.
Glen Ackland had a big hit for Redwood in the bottom of the seventh inning. With Redwood leading 4-0, Ackland hit a 3-run home run. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the Rhinos up, 7-0.
"Feels good to get the job done," Wright said after the game.
Redwood is now 18-17. Capital Hill is 16-19.
