Rhinos Take Down Harbor Whales, 7-4
|
Redwood rode a decent outing from starter Sawao Sawada to victory over the Greenport Harbor Whales. The final score was 7-4. The winning pitcher was Sawada, now 1-1. He tossed 6 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 0 and fanning 2. Tetsuyuki Ando got the save, the 9th for him this season.
Jin-haeng Yu dealt the Harbor Whales a blow in the bottom of the first. Batting with runners on 1st and 3rd and Redwood leading 1-0, Yu, who is tied for 10th in the SR in bases on balls with 12, hit a 1-0 fastball for a 2-run double.
"Getting ahead of the hitters was the key," said Sawada.
Redwood currently is in third place in the Silver R at 15-13.
