Redwood Rhinos starter Sawao Sawada turned in an exceptional performance against the Memphis Music at The Stage in Memphis, resulting in a Redwood win, 5-2. David Kelly notched the win in relief. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.1 innings. His record now sits at 1-0. Tetsuyuki Ando, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 7th save.
Redwood used the clutch hitting of Edward Panther to capture the win. The pinch hitter drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Rhinos ahead, 4-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a big one.
"I like our moxie," said Rhinos manager Dave Parrish.
Redwood has now won 3 in a row.
