Beaumont Crossbeaus starter Walt Gould turned in a top-notch performance against the Capital Hill Interns at The Target. The result was a win for the Crossbeaus, 6-2. Gould, the winner, moves to 3-1. He threw 6.2 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 8 and giving up no walks. The Interns, now 9-12, have lost 4 in a row.
The Crossbeaus got a big at-bat from designated hitter Josh Thompson. For the game, Thompson went 2 for 5 with 2 triples, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run triple. His 2nd triple of the season gave Beaumont a 2-0 lead.
