Szema Excels, But Warheads Win
|
The Bethlehem Angel Kitties got a superb performance from first baseman Ming-an Szema, but the Amarillo Warheads still won the game, 5-4. Szema hit 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Denzel Halford, the winner, improved to 4-12. He held Bethlehem to 4 runs on 3 hits over 7 innings, while racking up 7 strikeouts. The Warheads sport a record of 32-52.
José Serrano, the 19-year old center fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Serrano contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the eighth inning to put Amarillo up, 5-4.
"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Serrano said.
