|
Amarillo beat Bethlehem on the strength of starter Bill Robinson's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 4-2. Ricardo Cortéz picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 5-0. Mark Hogan was tagged with the loss. The save was Vicente Alou's, his 4th.
Had Danny Fox not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Fox hit a 2-run single. That made the score 4-2, in favor of the Warheads.
After the game, Amarillo manager Juan Díaz applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
The win puts Amarillo at 24-43.
