Big Day for Keller in 9-6 Flanderses Win
|
George Keller was a vital contributor to the 9-6 Hudsonville victory over Germantown. The Flanderses first baseman was 4-4 with a home run, a double, 2 singles, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 3 runs and drove in 3. Hudsonville reliever Hubert Johnson picked up the win, raising his record to 2-0. Howard Randolph was tagged with the loss. Alonso Salazar closed the game out for Hudsonville, earning his 5th save.
Hudsonville used the timely hitting of Juan Valdéz to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Flanderses on top, 8-6. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We'll enjoy this win," said Keller. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
The Flanderses' win now puts them at 32-30.
