Fort Knox Centennial starter Yin-reng Fong pitched a strong game against the Hudsonville Flanderses at Hudsonville Park, leading the Centennial to victory, 6-2. The save went to Félix Ruíz, his 2nd this season. At 16-2, the Centennial have played well so far.

Had Pepe Melandri not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Melandri hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Centennial.

"It's always nice to be on the winning side," Melandri told the Fort Knox Daily News. "But we take nothing for granted."
