Chiefs Win 2-1 Walk-Off
|
Caldwell got a strong outing from Ramón Echevarría as the Chiefs defeated the South Beach Blaze, 2-1, at Pipers Ballpark. Caldwell reliever Sergio Escalora got the win, raising his record to 1-0. Stuart Fossett was tagged with the loss. The first-place Blaze have lost 4 straight games.
Sébastien Guillaume was the walk-off hero for Caldwell. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Chiefs left fielder hit a dramatic solo home run to send the teams home.
"It's great to get the crowd pumped up," Guillaume said.
